OAuth from Sourcetree (Mac) with BitBucket not working properly

Remon Pel September 24, 2018

Hi all.

We are trying to connect a new installation of SourceTree (2.7.6 177) with BitBucket.

What we expect:

  1. In SourceTree, go to 'Remote', then 'Cog', 'Accounts'
  2. 'Add' account, 'BitBucket', 'OAuth' and click 'Connect'
  3. Log-in with account
  4. Message "Connected, close window"
  5. Status: Connected

What happens:

  1. In SourceTree, go to 'Remote', then 'Cog', 'Accounts'
  2. 'Add' account, 'BitBucket', 'OAuth' and click 'Connect'
  3. Log-in with account
  4. Repository overview is given, as in: it is the complete BitBucket website in a small window.
  5. Status: Not Connected

For the time being, we are using "basic" authentication, but that should not be needed -- we've connected with the OAuth method in the past without problems.

Thank you for your response.

Hi,

We apologize for the inconvenience. This is a known issue which is fixed in the latest beta that will be out as a public release later this week. You can either use ssh or app passwords on Bitbucket as your basic password in Sourcetree in the meanwhile. Thanks for your patience and we will have the new 3.0 version out soon. Feel free to use the beta version if you'd like to try.

Thanks!

Well, at least you know about it, and it's not just us :)

Thank you for your response!

And about "version 3", I'm excited, can't wait to see it :) Will try out the beta!

We've got that fixed and rolled out to 5% of users. You can give it a try by downloading the build - OSX_Latest.zip

This same problem appears to be back with version 4.0 (232) on Mac running Catalina 10.15.1.  Any advice?

I have the same error running 2.7.6 (177), with no available updates.

@alexrada @Manju I'm facing the same issue. I'm running SourceTree 2.7.6 (177) on macOS Sierra 10.12.6 with no available updates. I just cannot connect my SourceTree client to GitHub and BitBucket through the OAuth authentication type with the following message: "This integration is misconfigured. Contact the vendor for assistance."

There is a link indicating this issue has been resolved, but how can I make OAuth work on my machine?
