Hello,

Complete novice here so please bear with me.

Trying to install Sourcetree to a windows PC. I go to website click download and SourceTreeSetup-3.3.9.exe downloads. When I click to run it says "Installation has failed".

Any help most welcome and appreciated.

EDIT: SO THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE PC I AM USING AND NOT THE DOWNLOAD.

- I tried the download on my laptop and it worked fine.

- The problem on the work PC is that when I run the .exe it does not come up with the option to look in the microsoft store / run anyway.

- Hopefully I can sort this out but if this is a common problem than help welcomed.

The Setup Log is here:

Hi @Adam McVeigh ,

Welcome to the community! We are glad you are here!

Wish you a very happy new year!

Can you please try a clean install? The steps are as follows:

  1. Wipe SourceTree preferences
  2. Uninstall SourceTree (if it shows on the App&Features list)
  3. Backup then delete the directory below before proceeding with the next step
    • Navigate to C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local and delete SourceTree & SourceTree-Settings folder
    • Navigate to C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Atlassian and delete all SourceTree Files/Folder.
  4. Download SourceTree and install it.
