Hi there,
Due to the age of my Mac OS the version of SourceTree that works is 2.0.5.8
After the 30 day trial expired I'm asked to register or obtain a licence. I attempted both these routes using these instructions, but both failed.
The direct link from the product GUI directed to an expired link on the Atlassian website.
The email verification email was successfully received, but the "verify my email" link was also expired.
Have I missed something? Is there another way to get a licence for SourceTree 2.0.5.8?
Thanks!
Hi Jerome, welcome to the Community!
Sourcetree no longer needs a license, you just need to register with your Atlassian account (the same account you're using to access this forum). If that option doesn't show up for you, can you send us a screenshot of Sourcetree asking you for the license?
Could you also let us know which Mac are you using?
Best regards,
Ana
Hi Ana,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I have a 2011 Macbook Pro running OS 10.10.3 (Yosemite), using Sourcetree 2.0.5.8
1) Sourcetree asking for a licence:
1a) When I press "Register Now", it goes to this dead link page with url https://my.atlassian.com/license/sourcetree:
2) Registering from my Atlassian login:
I go to this page (https://confluence.atlassian.com/sourcetreekb/guide-to-register-for-a-license-after-30-days-of-usage-788730912.html) and click on the link in the second option:
https://id.atlassian.com/signup?application=mac&continue=https://my.atlassian.com/license/sourcetree
It asks me to login, then after login, it takes me to that same dead link page above.
The first time I did it though, I was able to apply for a Sourcetree licence, but I needed to verify my email address. Below is a screenshot of the verification email I received... the verification link goes to the same dead link page above.
So each path I tried I end up at the same dead link page (https://my.atlassian.com/license/sourcetree).
Thanks again for your help!
Jerome

Hi @Ana Retamal
What do you think I should do?
I've tried both potential paths to get a licence again with the same result of a dead link. How do I go about downloading a licence?
Kind regards,
Jerome

Hi Jerome,
That version of Sourcetree is very old, and it's not supported anymore. The current Sourcetree version is 3.2.1. As I said, Sourcetree no longer needs a licence, so there's no way of obtaining licences now. You will need to update your application to a newer version if you'd like to continue using Sourcetree.
Best regards,
Ana
