High CPU usage by perl.exe

On my new laptop Sourcetree child processes show unnecessary CPU usage.

There's just two repo's open in SourceTree and nothing is happening but still it's heating up the laptop and wasting battery.

How do I stop this?

Great support

I also recently noticed this, and I found this report from Google.

Two years later, and it's still not fixed, not even acknowledged...

Same here with Windows 10.

When I close sourcetree, in about 70% of the cases, perl.exe does heat up my CPU.

.. another 2 years later...!
