Github Authentication

I have followed just about every instruction on the web to get Sourcetree to re-connect to my remote Github account. It worked fine until Github required their authentication token. I've generated the token, used it as my password, attempted to use OAuth authentication and even though sourcetree says my authentication was good, I still cannot pull from my Github account. I can login on the web and use the Github desktop app and everything works fine. here is the error message I get, HELP!

git -c diff.mnemonicprefix=false -c core.quotepath=false --no-optional-locks fetch --no-tags origin
remote: Support for password authentication was removed on August 13, 2021. Please use a personal access token instead.
remote: Please see https://github.blog/2020-12-15-token-authentication-requirements-for-git-operations/ for more information.
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://github.com/ksmurphy/einstein.git/'
