where if I disable the above setting Sourcetree version control (push,, external diff..) stops working

Hi @Hanuman Kachwa,

This is the first report we've had like this that I'm aware of. Please file a ticket in the public tracker and we'll triage it further there. This allows other users to vote, comment, and watch and for us to be able to see where it might fit in the roadmap.
