Does Sourcetree need Python?

Martin Sandberg June 19, 2023

Sourcetree seems to need Python, but Python doesn't work on OS X Ventura 13.4. Every time I launch Sourcetree I get a Python crash report Termination Reason: Namespace DYLD, Code 1 Library missing
Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation
Referenced from: <D486A30F-8362-E06E-B0A9-6E3CF809F506> /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.4/Resources/Python.app/Contents/MacOS/Python
Reason: tried: '/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation' (no such file), '/System/Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/OS/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation' (no such file), '/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation' (no such file, no dyld cache), '/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation' (no such file)
(terminated at launch; ignore backtrace)

But Sourcetree seems to work fine.

How did you finally solve this? I have found myself developing on Monterey macOS v12 for a project and this EXACT issue is happening now when I fire up the app and it crashes when I try to discord a hunk or a line...
