There seems to be a bug in SourceTree that shows extraneous merge items - I tried to report it and the process seems to be to create a JIRA ticket - so I did that: 

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREEWIN-11684

Did I do that correctly, and if so, is there any chance of a fix in the near future?
