Credentials not recognised

Chris Jones August 23, 2022

I keep getting the following errors:

remote: Invalid credentials

fatal: Authentication failed for...

So I can 't pull or push or effectively use the product at all.

I run Mojave on Mac and Sourcetree v4.1.9

I've tried every fix on this forum and can't get it to work.

I've cleared my keychain, deleted then reinstalled Sourcetree, tried changing Atlassian username and password and app password.

Losing the will to live on this, and so much work to get done.

Ideally I'm looking for an admin to jump in on this, connect remotely to my Mac and sort this out.

Many thanks.

Hey Chris,

Welcome to the Bitbucket Cloud Community! :)

Whilst I cannot remotely connect to your machine, I can provide some assistance with getting this issue resolved.

I would suggest checking this article below:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Sourcetree-articles/Bug-Fix-Sourcetree-for-Windows-authentication-error-when/ba-p/1965968

Ultimately, as a result of the HTTPS auth change which was made to require an AppPassword - the remote URL should look like this (substitute in username/AppPassword/workspaceID/reposlug):

https://USERNAME:APP_PASSWORD@bitbucket.org/workspaceID/reposlug.git

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
