Crash on startup after latest windows update

Cristian Constantin September 21, 2018

It seems latest Windows Update updated .Net to 4.7.2 .

4.7.1 can not be installed because I already have 4.7.2

---------------------------
SourceTree.exe - This application could not be started.
---------------------------
This application requires one of the following versions of the .NET Framework:
.NETFramework,Version=v4.7.1

Do you want to install this .NET Framework version now?
---------------------------
Yes No

Hello! I assume you're on a preview version of Windows? If so, please take a look at this reply:

Thanks!

Yes thank you for the reply.

I also found a solution here that is working:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Sourcetree-questions/updating-Sourctree-to-2-5-5-NET-installation-failure/qaq-p/775754#U899389

As someone suggested:

fixed it by editing file,  "C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\SourceTree\app-2.6.10\SourceTree.exe.config"

And changed line:

<supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.7.1"/>

To

<supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.7.2"/>
