Is there a way to change the default commit mode? Every time I hit commit, I have to change the commit mode from "Commit all changes from selected files in the working tree" to "Commit changes staged in the index".

The default commit mode is based on whether you're using the staging features (the split view in the File Status tab); if you're using staging, SourceTree assumes you want to commit that way too. If you're not, then SourceTree defaults to the 'commit all' mode.

To control whether you use staging, open Preferences > Git and toggle the 'Use the staging area' option.

Hope that helps!

Perfect. Changing my view did the trick. Thank you so much!

I can not find this option in my SourceTree 1.8.3.0

Was it moved somewhere?
