Cannot connect to Github account on Mac

...Yes, there are many questions like this here, but ... why? ... why is it so hard? Why can't there just be a description that works?

So: I open a repository that belongs to a Github account, and I configure a Github account via OAuth, but every time I want to write to the remote repository Source is asking for access to my Mac keychain. Why? Why is this not working? ...
