Can I set different tacking branches for pulling an pushing?

Different default remote (tracking branch) for git pull and git push desribes Git support for tracking a different brach for pulling than for pushing.

Since I work with a triangular workflow, I would like to do that as well.

However, I can't see support for this in the Source Tree UI.

It is safe to go on and configure this in Git, using on eof the methods described in the article, or will Source Tree stumble on that?
