When I'm selecting dozens (or even hundreds) of files so I can stage them, I have to be insanely careful not to accidentally click the selected file again, otherwise every single selected file is opened. This usually causes minutes of anguish, trying to close everything, sometimes resulting in the whole thing crashing.
*Please* add the option to disable this. It's incredibly frustrating.
