Why SourceTree gets uglier and uglier (at least, on Windows)

Jarek Krochmalski May 9, 2017

Hi

I've noticed that 2.0 release is ugly AF , at least on Windows.

We experience blurry fonts on the source pane, ugly tabs flashing during switching between them etc.

Also seems slower than 1.9x

Do you guys try to run it from time to time on Windows ? ;) It's a great software we want to use, but please make it pretty as well.

best

Jarek

Same visual symptoms here, but to re-iterate:

  • blurry (small) fonts
  • fonts are unreadable/blurred at least a second after refresh (e.g. commit/diff select)
  • missing horizontal grid lines (or, at least, even-odd backgrounds) make hard to "connect" a commit in Graph with corresponding Description (especially with wide trees)

It's a painful experience for me as well. And people have been reporting this a lot in SourceTree's JIRA. Here's one of the most popular tickets:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREEWIN-7085

At least the devs promised to fix the problem with annoying and blurry animations in a future update. As for the rest... I have little hope.
