Mac Sourcetree Laggy/Very Slow

Edited

Almost every time I open a repo in Sourcetree it gives me the rainbow wheel cursor for a lengthy period of time. I made a screen capture to show you how bad this is.

Video: http://dch.link/HefJaqanqL/sourcetreelag.mp4

The cursor in the video stays normal but in reality, after opening the repo the cursor is the rainbow wheel. I can do nothing but drag the window and wait until the file changes are shown in the bottom right. Once that happens the app is available for use again.

This has been an issue for a long time. I'm using a MacBook Pro Late 2016 model with a 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 and 16gb of memory. This should not be happening.

ps. You can also see that simply opening a repo takes a decent amount of time as well.

Please submit a ticket on http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE or vote on existing tickets if you think this is one of the similar issue already reported.

Regardless, we aware of the performance issues and are working to fix them. Look for the upcoming releases which will have incremental changes for better performance.
