New Twitter feed embed code not compatible with ‘Widget Connector’ Macro

Alison Dunn Jun 02, 2017

Twitter recently updated their embed tools to generate a short block of HTML code. There is no widget ID, so the single URL required for the 'Widget Connector' Macro does not work. How can I embed a twitter feed now?

Wow, no bites?

It looks like this was raised as a bug in April but it's been resolved as "Won't fix", stating that it works if you follow updated documentation.

However, the documentation is wrong and this bug still exists. The only widget type that creates a widget ID is a search term. Any other widget (such as a profile or list timelines) no longer creates a widget ID and requires different embedded code.

Twitter direct users affected by this to encourage their software vendors to update their products to use the new API. Documentation is available.
