JIRA Cloud authenticate with SSO/SAML

I have a couple questions about integrating SSO with Atlassian Cloud products.

• Do you need to purchase Atlassian access or can you configure this without that product
• If you do need to purchase Atlassian Access what exactly is that doing for you (what is it's purpose and why is it necessary)?

The answer to that would be yes.  You would need to subscribe to the Atlassian Access.

WIth Atlassian Access, you'll have the ability to control and manage all the Atlassian Accounts associated with your verified domain. Think this as one platform to manage your users across multiple Atlassian application, and not just limited to one cloud instance.

The features provided in Atlassian Access are:

• SAML
• 2FA
• Security policies

And you'll also get Priority support.
