We will be moving to a central home page for Knowledge Base.
How can we copy existing pages/sub pages to a new area and update any links asscociated if they point to old page? Does the COPy perform all updates to links?
Can we just rename the main Home page?
This would be the same issue if we were going from TEST Home to DEV HOME to Prod HOME for our Wiki doc. How does Atlassian do it? Is there a canned process?
There are several ways to do this. You can Move a page to your new KB Space, this will include all child pages (and their child pages) as well as any files. This will automatically update all internal links pointing toward the new location of the page.
You can also simply rename the Home page (or point the Space homepage somewhere else) and the Space itself via the Space Tools option (under Browse > Space Tools or in the left sidebar).
If you want to Copy the pages instead of moving them, that is unfortuantely not possible from Confluence out of the box. However This Plugin can provide that, or you can use the Confluence CLI which uses the API to copy pages around.
Cheers,
Ivan.
Is there a specific way to RENAME? Space details changes Name, but the Home Page section cannot change. What process do you use? We have Space Admin not SPACE TOOLS
