Bamboo pluginScheduler job stops executing after some time.

DaveD September 16, 2013

I've successfully got a Bamboo PluginJob executing by following the tutorial at https://developer.atlassian.com/display/DOCS/Scheduling+Events+via+SAL+Tutorial. All is working fine for the first few minutes with the Job executing every 10s as it is specified.

Unfortunately after a random time (a few minutes) the scheduled job stops running.

There doesn't seem to be any errors in the logs and I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

I've upgraded to 5.2 and this seems to have gone away now.

I've narrowed this down to some issue with rabbitmq which the pluginJob is using. If I disable the AMQP functionality, the job doesn't disappear. I'm unable to find any exception to work out what the issue is.

I've worked around this problem by having a fairly regular event look for the last time the job has been run and reschedule it if it goes over a threshold. Not a great solution but it seems to work.

I am currently tied to using 4.4.5 but I'll try to upgrade to the latest version and see if this is still an issue.
