Various Service Desk projects with one Knowledge Base

Al May 8, 2018

Hi team,

We are in the process of defining a special service desk for each customer that we have to give them support. We also would like to create a general Knowledge Base for all of them.

We have noticed that each project has its own knowledge base separately.

Is it possible to share one knowledge base between all the service desks projects? How can we link them?

Thank you!

Hi, Alena.

You can definitely link multiple Service Desk projects to a single Confluence space (knowledge base article). When you create the project and link to a Confluence space, it will create a space separately. In order to be able to select a new space, you need to first, make sure to unlink the space in the knowledge base settings of the space.

A quick step-by-step:

  1. In your current existing Service Desk project, as an admin, go to Settings
  2. Search for Knowledge Base almost in the bottom of the sidebar
  3. There, if you already have a Confluence space in the Link a Confluence Space part, make sure to click on the Don't link to a Confluence space option
  4. To revert it and pick a new space, on the same screen, click on Link to a Confluence Space and pick the same space/knowledge base to all the spaces.

Give it a try and make sure that you have the permissions to see the space that you are looking for. :)

Cheers!

Giu
