Do I need a user license to ask questions in Confluence Questions?

Currently we use an OSQA site as a support forum for our users. Something similar to answers.atlassian.com. We are considering migrating to Confluence Questions. It works like this:

  • Questions can be asked by anyone.
  • Answers are almost always provided only by our internal support staff.

How many licenses would we need?

  1. Only users answering questions would need a license. No license is needed for asking questions. It would be similar to agents/users licensing in JIRA Service Desk.https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/service-desk/pricing

    or

  2. A paid license is needed for both asking and answering questions.

Which one is correct?

Hello Darragh,

To have a better idea about the problem, could you please let us know what kind of error message is appearing? (did you check your logs(atlassian-confluence.log) to see if there's some specific error when you try to do this import?)

If possible, please check the logs and if there's some error paste it here, so we can have a better idea from the application side what can be happening.

Also, just for test purposes, please try the following:

* Stop your Confluence.
* Then remove the content from the following folders (to recreate the bundled plugins from your instance):

a) The <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins folder
b) The <confluence-home>/plugin-cache folder
c) The <confluence-home>/plugins-osgi-cache folder
d) The <confluence-home>/plugins-temp folder

* Then start the instance again and try to reproduce the error.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

LJ.

Thanks for your speedy reply, however the UWC solved the problem ie. importing html files into Confluence. But I will try what you have suggested to see what is causing the problem.
