How to change default permissions when new pages are created

Nikki Anderson October 17, 2019

Hello. I have created a template for my boss to easily create a weekly newsletter for the team. I created a parent page, and there is a macro on that page for her to click and it brings up the template.

Once she completes the new page via that template and clicks save, it automatically is nested under that parent page.

The problem is that each new page created from the template is open for everyone to view and edit.

I do not see where to change this so that only certain groups can just view it and such *by default*.

We do not want to have to go in and change permissions each time a new page is created. We want it to default to a certain permission setting.

Thank you for any advice.

Hi @Nikki Anderson

Can you please try out restricting parent page to view and Edit permission so that same view permissions will be followed to that child pages that are created from template within it.

Please refer below documentation on how to restrict page.

Thanks,
