[OPSGENIE] Is it possible to relate an alert to an incident via API call?

Ivan Stanlley P Juan August 18, 2019

Hi,

I'm new to using OPS Genie and currently studying the documentation as i'm planning on automating the creation of incidents based on the alerts we receive.

I'm also studying Marid integration and my idea is, whenever an alert is created, it will call the script referred to by actions.Create.script in marid.conf and this script will create an incident for me.

However, i want my script to check if a similar incident is already created for that alert. If there is, i will just relate that alert to the incident instead of creating a new one.

So far, I have read the following Rest API documentations but found no explicit mention of the ability to relate alerts to incident.

https://docs.opsgenie.com/docs/incident-api

https://docs.opsgenie.com/docs/alert-api

Is there any API that can be used to relate alerts to incidents?

(Or perhaps I have missed it in the docs i mentioned above, in which case, please do correct me)

Thanks!

Hi @Ivan Stanlley P Juan - Currently there isn't an API that associates an alert to an incident. When an alert is created that matches an incident rule of a service, it will automatically be associated with the related incident.
