Can an escalation policy notify based on acknowledged and closed status?

Do OpsGenie escalation polices stop processing once an escalation rule is met? For example, I would like an alert to notify the on-call user immediately and then escalate to another user or team if it has not closed after 10 minutes. Will the second rule process regardless of whether or not the alert is acknowledged?

Yes, the second rule would still process even if the alert is acknowledged. It would only stop if the alert was closed.
