What are the differences and use cases between creating alerts in the Integration settings and the Sync settings within Opsgenie?

In Opsgenie, alerts can be created and managed via:

Integration Settings

  • Purpose: Create alerts from external systems.
  • Use Cases: Connect with monitoring tools (e.g., Integrations), ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA), or custom APIs.

Sync Settings

  • Purpose: Keep alert data consistent across systems.
  • Use Cases: Bidirectional sync of alert status and details, auto-resolving alerts, integration with Slack.
