New! You can now manually map users in Opsgenie's Slack App for Incident Management

We’ve recently updated the way that users are mapped in the new Slack app for incident management. Before, users were mapped automatically based on their email address. This meant that a user’s email address for both their Slack and Opsgenie account needed to match for a seamless experience. Now users can be manually mapped using our new shortcut.

Once Opsgenie’s Slack App for Incident Management is set up you can manually map users using the “Connect Slack user” shortcut. This way, if Slack and Opsgenie are using different email addresses, you’ll be able to take incident actions from Slack. Once you execute the shortcut you’ll need to authenticate in Opsgenie and then confirm that Opsgenie is mapping to the right Slack user. For more information view our documentation.
