Hey all

Been using opsgenie for about 2 years or so. (from before it was Atlassian)

They recently updated their UI to "match Atlassian standards" and I find it much less useful now.

I have a few issues and am wondering if others feel the same way.

1: When configuring integration, you have 3 levels of left side menus taking up half your workspace, 2 of which are not collapsible. You also have a right side menu that is mostly empty and useless.  You lose half your screen real estate.

1a: Increasing your browser width doesnt actually give you more real estate to work with. The size of the actual space you are working in stays the same, It just add more whitespace to either side.

2: This really becomes apparent when working with extra values, where the amount of space you have to set the key/value pair becomes tiny. And it doesn't wrap well, so it becomes very hard work with. (particularly if you are using string processing methods to populate the values)

This looks really funny in modify policies. They cant even fit thier own hard coded text into the space available. (talking about you "Details (key-value based)" )

3: Similar problem with rotation names when you are configuring a rotation. You get 5 characters then the rest is truncated. Hover over does not work. If you have 2 rotations with the same 5 first letters, you have no way to tell the difference.

I can come up with other examples.

In short, i find the new UI much less informative and harder to use. I begged to be able to go back to the old one, but no luck.

Are others having the same issues? Or am I just too much of a power user so that only my team is noticing the problems.

Thanks

Hi @Andrew Laden thanks so much for taking the time to provide this feedback. I will share it with the proper teams internally. In the meantime I encourage others to share their experiences as well!

Best,

Kate
