Happy Monday, Community!

Who’s excited for (or maybe even attending?) Team Tour: High Velocity ITSM events in Barcelona, Amsterdam, or Munich this June?

Exploring various events and destinations is vital for the community member and the community itself to thrive. Besides, I have a soft spot for everything which facilitates learning, fosters connections, and empowers people through knowledge and experience sharing.

That’s why I’d love to spark discussion and grasp insight from you, Atlassian Community, today!

International Destinations

What are your go-to/must-go abroad destinations for Atlassian Community and Atlassian Themed Events and Conferences?

Let’s uncover and give kudos to iconic locations, events, and hidden gems together. To kick things off, here are my personal (and the team’s) favorite must-goes:

Team 23: This is an event to look forward to throughout the year. It even gives a holiday vibe with excitement for meeting new people, listening to marvelous speakers and outstanding speeches, and grasping new ideas and inspirations: from Atlassian and peers!

Meta-Inf Atlassian Day: Attended the Atlassian Day last year and this year and will be eager for round 3 in 2024. One of the main highlights is to meet and greet partners and clients across Europe to hear feedback and share knowledge and expertise in person.

Local Gems

Now, I want to spotlight local initiatives, meetups, and conferences. One example in Tallinn, Estonia, is DevClub - monthly meetups for IT-related topics. It greatly unraveled events and some coworkers from the new angle. Besides, with coworkers, we have regular Community of Practice sessions where every person has an opportunity to share knowledge on many topics (from ChatGPT API to content marketing and work/life balance). What are your take and experiences towards local events, meetups, and conferences?

Online vs. Offline

Finally, let’s dive into the realm of event formats. The popularity of online events has skyrocketed over the years for its convenience and inclusivity. Still, I love all the opportunities for in-person gatherings and interactions. So, my go-to will be hybrid, with options to attend in person where possible. Do you have preferences for online or offline events yourself?

Long story short

So, concluding my ode to the vibrant community and community events, let’s share our go-to/must-go abroad destinations, local conferences and meetups, and your thoughts on the online versus offline events pick.

I appreciate getting inspired by your contributions and learning from your perspectives!

Warmest regards,

Anastasia

It would be nice if there were more events outside of Europe - like Dubai!

That's a great point, and a lovely city to visit for an event! Traveling the world, seeing new places, and meeting new people are exciting, especially when we go outside the box with our destination picks. Atlassian and Community events can also serve as an opportunity to explore the places that otherwise are at the bottom if present on our bucket list. I would love to see more events in East Asia myself.
