This entire post and all of the comments just TOTALLY made my day. For those of us planning Summit we can not wait to welcome you all to fabulous Las Vegas!
My best tips?
Network, network, network! There is no other place to meet a group like our Atlassian Summit attendees. They are the smartest, most innovative and welcoming community you will ever encounter.
Stop by all of the sponsor booths and Atlassian areas to get the best 1:1 attention to meet all of your needs (and you might snag some great swag!)
Download the Mobile App next week when it launches and start building your schedule, and networking on the APP.
Share the Livestream link with all of your friends/colleagues who can't make it live so they can watch from home. (Link will be available next week)
Pack some 80's gear, BASH is going to be #epic
Check in to get your badge early to avoid lines and being late to the first session on Tuesday at 500pm
If you miss a session because you were in another session, don't stress! Session recordings will be available shortly after the event
My boss and I are coming on Sunday and we are excited to get inspired by success stories and hoping to make interesting relationships that could benefit our team back in Montreal.
Our Confluence page with all our sessions picks and logistics backlog is ready to go!
80s gear is packed and we'll probably go see Blue Man Group or O by Circle du Soleil :)
Hi Everyone! I am so super excited for SUMMIT! I'm traveling with my AUG Co-Leader in from Columbus Ohio. This is my third trip to Vegas, and I already feel like there isn't going enough time to catch up with everyone and see everything I want to :) There is just always so much happening at Summit and I love getting to meet new friends and people as excited about Atlassian as I am.
My Best Tips for Vegas:
Wear really comfortable shoes!
Walking parts of the Strip is really fun, don't try to walk the whole thing!
Go up in the Stratosphere. Its a great view. Sunset is really nice up there.
Go see at least one Cirque du Soleil show. I highly recommend KA
If you want to play the casinos, set aside a specific amount and only play with that. I can be easy to get caught up in the fun and over extend your funds, and there is a bunch of fun things to do in Vegas that isn't at that casino!
If you like trying new foods, there are a ton of great places to eat, for a special night out, I recommend the restaurant at Paris, in the tower. Be aware, there is a dress code, but they do have complementary dress pants! :D
My Best Tips for Atlassian Summit
Wear really comfortable shoes!
There is a lot of walking at the convention and the showcase floor isn't kind on the feet.
Remember that many of the presentations are recorded, so no need to worry about fear of missing out.
Mark all of the sessions you want to see and the ones you did go to see, so you can look for the ones you want to view the recordings of.
Bring an extra bag for swag!
Follow as much as you can in the App (once it is live) a lot of announcements of extra things going on happen in there, from special drawings and swag at the vendors, to impromptu meetups among groups of people who want to discuss ideas and presentations further.
Remember to eat proper meals at least 2 a day,hit up the snacks, if you need them, and try to get enough sleep.
Oh and Remember to have fun! :)
Cannot wait to see you all there, and if you are from Ohio, be sure to catch up with the Columbus Ohio AUG Leaders for a Lunch gathering on Wednesday April 10th. We'll meet at a TBD location on the Expo Floor and go grab the provided lunch together.
Hello, this is Thomas from Germany - just three days left until Lift Off - I will arrive next Sunday in Las Vegas but leaving immediately towards Grand Canyon. My husband and I, we will be vacationing some National Parks the week before Summit.
We‘ll be back in Vegas on Sunday before Summit and stay at Luxor.
It‘s my third Summit, the second one in the US and I‘m looking forward to meeting you all, some for the first time.
I‘ve been in Vegas 12 years ago. We‘ve seen the „O“ show - it was great - if you like Cirque du Soleil, I can definitely recommend it.
I've been so busy at work it's been difficult to keep up with all of the Summit materials. Adding to that being a speaker and prepping for that has been quite time intensive. I hope I'm not late to the AUG Community party. I don't have a buddy yet, aside form folks I'm attending with but one is in TAM and the other a solution partner. I'll be looking for a friend. :)
