If you're planning on heading to TEAM 24 in Las Vegas, you may want to sign up for the developer training sessions taking place on day 1 (April 30), the day before the main event program starts. There are actually two training sessions taking place that day: Customizing Jira with Forge and Customizing Confluence with Forge. There is limited capacity (~70 seats per session total).
I'm Neil, a developer advocate at Atlassian, and I'll be facilitating the Confluence session. My colleague, Ian R., will be running the Jira session.
What you'll be learning
We'll be covering Atlassian's rapid cloud app development platform, Forge. The platform was designed for extending Atlassian products, including Jira, JSM, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Compass. We like to call Forge a low-code platform for building apps and integrations. We'll start with the very basics, including an overview of what Forge is. Then we'll all get hands-on with easy-to-follow exercises, including building and running your first Forge app in less than 5 minutes! After that, we'll continue with more hands-on learning exercises that dig even deeper into more interesting use-cases.
Who should consider attending
The developer training sessions are intended for all audiences, not just developers. Whether you're an end-user, admin, consultant, or have little to no app development experience, there's plenty you'll take away from these sessions. If you've ever wanted to build an app, integration, or even a script that improves how you work with Jira Cloud or Confluence Cloud, this is definitely for you.
When they're taking place
You can see the full TEAM 24 agenda here. These training sessions are taking place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The Jira session is from 9A to 12:30P, and the Confluence session is from 1:30P to 5P.
What you'll need to bring
All you'll need is your laptop. A week or so before the event, we'll be sending details on how to quickly get your computer setup with the necessary software to start building Forge apps. Coffee, water, snacks, and light fare will be provided throughout the sessions.
How to register
Head over to the TEAM 24 event page and register for the event if you haven't already. Only registered attendees of the conference can attend the developer training sessions, and the cost for each session is $50/ea. If you've already registered for TEAM, and would like to add the developer training, you should be able to do that by logging into the TEAM 24 site and modifying your registration.
