Assembling Your Atlassian Team – How to do it and why it matters!

Hi everyone! Dave and I were privileged to speak at Summit this year about Atlassian administration. We took all of our learnings about what makes up a great team of administrators, and the different types of administrators that are out there, to try and cover a holistic approach to how you can scale up your Atlassian admin team.

The key takeaways:

  • The first step to building up your Atlassian administration team is understanding the environment you're operating in – which products you have, the different levels of administration, and how they work together.

  • Next, you need to identify the different personas on your admin team and how they can work together. For example, agile coaches and IT admins can make sure Atlassian deployments are successful, while product tuners and project leads can configure projects to their needs to get the most out of the tool.

  • Lastly, we showcase the latest features and improvements we've shipped to make admins' lives a little easier. From project archiving in Server to a new global administration layer in Cloud, we hope that you'll take advantage of the new experiences when administering your Atlassian products.
