Good morning All,
Well, even though this is Atlassian Group page, we are allowed to discuss non-Atlassian related topics.
Let's talk about the Super Bowl Halftime Show since it has been a discussion on so many sites and social medias.
Before I ask for your input, I barley can eat now after watching Shakira and JLO performing. I have been blaming my sweet tooth, and my bad habits 🍫🍨🍰. Their performance was amazing! They were able to entertain us. JLO was even performing with high heels!!!! 😳😱
However, here is a comment that I saw in couple sites:"... they showed too much skin and that some people felt uncomfortable watching the show with their families."
Coming from a North African culture where a kiss in a movie will put the whole family in an embarrassing situation, I prefer to be the last one to provide my input. I would love to really know what you think guys.
Please share your comments as I am deeply interested to know your thoughts. I personally watched the show with my daughter and annoyed her with my non-stop comments about their shapes 🤸♂️
Have a great day everyone!
Best,
Fadoua
@Catherine Campbell I am originally from Morocco, I really get your point.
Thanks for taking time to answer my question!
Best,
Fadoua
I thought the performance was INCREDIBLE. Legendary, even.
Two women of color sharing songs and dances from Latinx culture was an educational experience. Their costumes were no more revealing than the ones that NFL cheerleaders wear for regular games so I'm surprised if regular fans felt uncomfortable watching. I loved the different songs they sang and how they interacted with the crowd in English and Spanish. I hope the next performance is as inclusive!
@Alison That's very good point about the cheerleaders. I also remember seeing Female Football Team wearing almost same clothes as both singers.
@Alison I completely second this statement! As a person of Latino descent, I was thrilled to see these two women performing and owning their identity, especially at their age, given society's focus on youth.
On the other end of the spectrum, part of my family is from South America, where showing skin is almost part of the culture. Ever been to Brazil!!!???? My family thought Shakira really nailed it and we loved the Latin vibe!
@Shawn Kessler she did in every way you can think about. I loved her red outfit, I couldn't believe she turned 43 on Sunday.
