When I started working with Atlassian tools, specifically with Jira, I remember that the most complex to understand were the schemes, Issue Type Scheme, Workflow Scheme, Issue Type Screen Scheme.... schemes, schemes, schemes... 🤯🤯🤯
I would like to know both for those new to jira and veterans, what was the thing that gave you the most headaches!
Love this diagram. Thanks, Jack! I've tried making my own. I also am fairly new'ish and have a hard time keeping all the schemes and clearly able to map out the interrelationships.
Same here, the screen schemes - although I started using Jira before it was this complex, and well before anyone put this diagram together!
I also struggled a bit with building it from source to make deployable WARs at first, but got a lot of help from the java developers I was supporting!
Yes, and...over the years I repeatedly go looking for diagrams like this to help with troubleshooting and explaining when teams ask for things.
Schemes caused the greatest headache especially field configuration and screen schemes were quite confusing. It was also quite hard to understand field context feature and its limitations.
In older versions of Jira Server, there were also a lot of strange configuration that require to work on files/db level because there were lack of several options in gui interface. For example as far as I remember there were no way to configure TLS in SMTP configuration without utylizing JNDI. Instaling and configuring plugins also was not so pleasant experience without Universal Plugin Manager.
indeed schemes are at the top of my list as well.
@Jack Nolddor _Sweet Bananas_ , love that graphic indeed it helps!
