Jira and Document Management using SharePoint

Hello,

We are replacing our project management system with Jira.  I am new to Jira and so is our company.  We will be using Jira for many things.  Among them, our PMO will manage projects with Jira.  Our CorpApps team will manage minor enhancement requests and bug fix requests in Jira.  I have been mandated to come up with a document management system between Jira and SharePoint.  Those documents are part of our SDLC process and we do get audited on the completeness of this documentation.   Examples of documents that need to be stored are IT Requests, QA and UAT test results, user Memos, email correspondence, etc.

 Any advice or links that you can provide on how this can be achieved with Jira and SharePoint would be very much appreciated.  FYI, Confluence is not an option at this point.

One problem from an audit perspective is that comments can be deleted without a trace from Jira.  There is an outstanding request to change this, but I don't believe it has any commitment from Atlassian.  I would love to be corrected.

Two questions:

Do they use confluence and would they be willing to use it to store documentation?
Would you need any integration to sharepoint or would attaching a URL to a JIRA issue be sufficient?

Hello Clayton,

1) If you do have information or links that does describe how Confluence can be used for a document repository, I am interested in that BUT at this point Confluence is not being used and there is no plan to use it either. 

2) I believe at this point, attaching a URL to the Jira issue would suffice.  But again if you have information or links on how Jira and SP can be integrated, I am interested in that also.
