I started working for a new company this year and they did not have any type of a tracking tool. I recently suggested using Jira since I have used it in two previous jobs. It really is a good tool and you can get up to speed quickly. The company agreed and we are on the road with a conversion project we are working on. My boss already sees how this tool can be useful to us in other areas of the business.
