Looks like this was something that was being worked on. The expand nesting feature is very useful when it come to preventing the pages being to lengthy. Is this something that will be released soon?
Hello Dominic and welcome to the Community!
From reviewing the linked post and reviewing our feature requests I was able to find a few requests which may provide some context and insight into what you’re looking for. Before we get into the feature requests I do want to make you aware of our new feature policy which helps to set the expectations around when and why some features are worked and others are not; Implementation of New Features Policy.
The feature requests which may be relative to your ask are as follows:
The status within these requests will give insight into which are currently being reviewed and explored as a feature. We ask if you’re interested in a feature request to please vote and watch the request to receive future updates to their status.
I hope this information proves helpful.

The problem here I see, is that you continue to name this as a new feature development - which it is NOT.
This is a removed functionality you decided not to implement in the new editor, braking lot's of macros and scenarios.
(This feature exists in Confluence old editor (both, in cloud and in server/datacenter) and is dropped (not implemented) in the new editor for Confluence cloud)
I don't think it is correct to put this under the same policy as "new features"

Thanks for getting back to me Stephen, looking forward to it going live.
But I agree with Alex's sentiment too. Wish this was added before rolling out the new editor
