I have a public pdf I created in my Confluence knowledgebase. I can copy the public download link address of this pdf in my Confluence knowledgebase.
My company has an external public company web site where I would like to display my Confluence public pdf.
The problem is that the public download link address DOWNLOADS the pdf to my PC. Is there a way to provide the link address of this pdf in my Confluence knowledgebase where it does not DOWNLOAD the pdf to my PC.
The effect I want is that the web site (using the Confluence link address) pulls the pdf to the web site for viewing in a pdf pop-up viewer on the web site.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated. -Rob
Yes, there is a way to provide the link address of your Confluence public PDF without downloading it to your PC. You can use the PDF macro to display the content of the PDF document on your Confluence page, then share that page's public link with your external public company website.
Here are the steps:
1. Attach the PDF document to a Confluence page. You can do this by navigating to the page where you want to attach the PDF, selecting the "Edit" button, and then selecting "Files and images" from the toolbar.
2. Use the PDF macro to display the content of the PDF document on the page. You can do this by typing "/pdf" on the page, then selecting the "PDF" macro from the drop-down menu.
3. Save the page.
4. Share the page's public link with your external public company website. To do this, navigate to the page you just created, select the "Share" button at the top right corner, make sure the "Public link" is enabled, and copy the link.
5. Embed the link on your external public company website by adding a hyperlink to the page's public link. When users click on the link, they will be taken directly to the Confluence page with the PDF embedded in it.
Note: If the PDF is not displaying properly on the Confluence page, you may need to adjust the settings of the PDF macro. You can do this by selecting the gear icon in the
