Hi Atlassian,
Can you confirm whether it will still be possible to disable and re-enable the New Navigation via Your Profile and Settings → Personal Settings → General → Jira Labs once it reaches GA?
We need to inform our 1000+ users.
Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Roberto
Hi Roberto,
I wouldn't count on it. In all the communication I've seen, this is being pushed big time. I can imagine from Atlassian's perspective it's better to know that all customers are on the new platform/experience, rather than having to support both options (also for bug fixing, etc).
Especially since they are releasing it as GA (General Availability), it would no longer be a 'Labs' item, but an actual feature of the product.
Yes. And i tend to agree with them on that. Lets concentrate on making the new "standard" work reasonably. At least it's more standardized over Products.

I can understand the desire to keep code simple, but current industry practices of large UI changes to a large number of users is to release with a feature toggle (e.g. the labs feature) and gather feedback as to why people turn the new functionality off, then remove the feature toggle but only once they are sure that they have feature parity/stability and there are no unexpected bugs that were missed during beta testing.
It is very bad practice to do big bang changes to all users. Just look at what happened to CrowdStrike last year when they didn't do a staggered rollout.
I really do hope that they include a feature toggle on user's profiles, as I'm not sure I am a fan of the new UI and haven't had the privilege to play around with it during beta.

Hi @Hans Polder _Devoteam_ I strongly prefer having the option to enable/disable this new functionality until it stabilizes. In my opinion, March 2025 is premature, considering various comments. Thanks
