Howdy folks! I just moved to Tennessee from Dallas, TX where I was an in person community lead.
I noticed there is a Nashville group, but no Knoxville group. Is anyone here in the Knoxville area, or know of enough people interested in setting one up?
Hey Jeff,
I'm not aware of a leader in Knoxville but I would definitely encourage you to organize an event if you are interested. I'd be willing to come present at an event there and could potentially find other speakers or sponsors. I'm originally from that area so still have a few connections in the network!
Cheers,
David
Nice! Would you by chance have any connections to a venue? We found this to be the hardest hurdle to overcome when the Dallas group lost their standard location.

I just submitted the request form to start up a new group, however it requires the input of a 7 digit community ID.
Mine is only 6 digits long. Am I too "old school" to be eligible? :)

Hey @Jeff Tillett
As far as becoming a community leader for Knoxville, if you submit the contact form here it will get the ball rolling. Once you submit, let me know and I will reach out to the Atlassian Community program director to give them a heads up.
For venues, let me ask around. You may find places like breweries are always willing to host since they know folks attending will likely buy a beverage. I would recommend putting a "gathering interest" event together to start which is just an informal happy hour to see how many Atlassian users are engaged in the area.
Cheers,
David

Already submitted the form and notified Atlassian, including notifying them about the issue with the form requiring a 7 digit ID despite my ID only being 6 digits LOL.
Thanks for the tips!
