JIRA Agile - Custom Sprint Reports

Purandhar Krishnamurthy October 1, 2013

Hi Support,

I am trying to migrate to JIRA Agile to manage our Agile Projects and I am currently evaluating how useful JIRA Agile could be.

We would like to generate reports for,

1. Resources Vs Issue for each sprint - Planned in a sprint

2. Resources Vs Issue for each sprint - Actual work done (in the sprint)

3. A report/table showing how much a resource is Allocated in each Sprint throughout the Agile Project

4. A report/table showing how much a resource is Used in each Sprint throughout the Agile Project

I have searched through the extensive documentation material from Atlassian in vain and also i searched for third party plugins. But wasnt lucky to see one.

Is there a way to create this customized report? Your advice / guidance would save great deal of my time. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Purandhar

Those reports can be easily made with SQL for JIRA

For the first report you need to access to the following tables:

  • AGILE.BOARDSPRINTS to get the sprints
  • AGILE.BOARDSPRINTISSUES to get the issues of each sprint

For the second report you have to join

  • ISSUEWORKLOGS to fetch the users' and their work logs on issues.

I think your best bet may be to try out the suite of tools from the Tempo folks. Specifically there is the Tempo Planner which has the ability to do resource planning, which I think it where you are going.
