Is there a way to add an if statement in conjunction with Assign to last role member?

I have workflow statuses of Pending UAT, In UAT and Pending Deployment. Our Business Analysts are the primary users and are granted access to Assign the issue to the person performing UAT. They are also ones that could be performing UAT so when UAT passes/fails they're allowed to Assign the issue back to the original Business Analyst. I have also added the following post function: Assign the issue to the last user from the Business Analysts role who had this issue assigned before.

If upon pass/fail the UAT (BA User) manually assigns it (in transition screen) back to original Analyst, it overwrites it and assigns it back to UAT BA user. Is there a way to say, If assignee is not done in screen, assign it back to original BA. Sames goes if it is a non BA UAT person, say a user only allowed to submit tickets and perform UAT but not work on issues like a BA does. If issue is not assigned in transition, then have the JMWE condition run as it should.

Hope you understand this.

Thank you,
