I am using Insight v4.9.8 and I am trying to bulk add a new attribute to already existing objects.  When I import the CSV which has the same columns as the object attributes but the only columns populated are the object name and the NEW attribute column, but instead of updating the existing objects it is creating duplicate objects with the SAME EXACT names.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi Christopher.

If no object key is set in CSV, even if the names are the same, new objects will be created. Take a look at https://documentation.riada.se/display/ICV49/CSV+Import for more information.

Also, from Insight version 5 we have made a huge overhaul of the import functionality making the imports more flexible, and added the option to map not only on key, but any attribute that can be used as an identifier. More on version 5 can be found in the release notes at https://documentation.riada.se/insight/latest/release-notes

Best Regards
Alexander
