Marketplace Spotlight: Xpand IT

 Each month, we run a series of Spotlights to highlight Marketplace vendors and apps that our team thinks this Community would find valuable. In last month's Spotlight on Rollout.io, we looked at defining what it means to be "done" with an issue.

This month, our Spotlight is on our Platinum Top Vendor Xpand IT - an IT consulting company that has found success developing apps for the Atlassian Marketplace.

What do they do?

Xpand IT is an Atlassian Solution Partner and Marketplace vendor that started in 2003 by providing IT consulting services on new technologies. Based in Portugal, Xpand IT expanded into other larger markets in Europe and now serve a variety of customers across the globe.  They first started working with the Atlassian Marketplace when it opened in 2012 when they realized that there was market demand for issue exporting solutions. Their first app, Xporter for Jira, focused on exporting information from Jira into mail letters - similar to a mail merge.  As Xpand IT continued to consult and work with clients, they expanded their suite of apps and ventured into the world of test management with their popular Xray Test Management for Jira app.

We worked with Xpand IT on a developer case study about using the Atlassian Marketplace to expand their business. When Xpand IT first started selling in the Atlassian Marketplace, they were surprised how quickly they started to receive app installs. The Marketplace platform, which offers a built-in customer base, billing, peer ecosystem, and lots of other resources, gave Atlassian Solution Partner Xpand IT the right opportunity to productize its knowledge and scale its business. Seeing their app revenue grow from 30K to 1M in only 18 months, Xpand IT decided to double-down on marketing and expanded their participation events such as Atlassian Summit, partner events, app weeks and user groups. Now, only a few years later, Xpand IT is now one of Atlassian's Platinum Top Vendors, meaning that they have exemplified outstanding app quality and customer support. Keep up the good work!
