how to link the issues automatically based on some custom field value?

Hi,

i want to link the issues automatically based on some custom filed value on creation of a new issue. if the custom filed value of issue is same as the custom filed value of any other already exsting issue then they should be linked together.

is there any add-ons or post functions for this? if no, then can any one please tell me how to write the code for this?

Hi Kavitha,

You may want to try an add-on such as Automation for JIRA or ScriptRunner to accomplish this.  Take a look at the links I provided for more ideas on how to implement this in your instance.
