Video content vs text?

Alex September 10, 2020

Please tell me what video would you like to see for apps from the marketplace?

  1. There is a video presentation: it shows how this app is used in general and what problems it solves.
  2. There are video instructions for setting up: an overview of all the app settings, how to solve specific cases using it.
  3. There are video instructions for use: they show to real users how to use the functionality configured in their system.

In my practice, video is used extremely rarely.

  1. There is always a text description from which it is clear what is it and wherefore.
  2. The problem is closed 110% by the textual documentation and experimenting with settings.
  3. We always prepare instructions for users how to use new features and what to do with them in a particular system.

I would go for a video that describes an overview of the app and a quick instruction on how to use it. The video must be to the point and not too long
