Using Slack and Atlassian RSS feeds together

This article was prompted by @Mina Kwan posting Let’s talk all things Slack and Atlassian!

Whether you use multiple Atlassian Cloud products, or need to know when Atlassian developer, marketplace, and/or partner tools are down - consider adding a RSS Feed Slack channel like #atlassian-product-status-rss-feed.

Checking https://status.atlassian.com/ or receiving RSS feeds into your inbox works, but an RSS feed in Slack puts this information in a handy shared location without creating emails that need to be "filed".

Follow the steps on Add RSS feeds to Slack and add the feeds below that are relevant to you and your team:

Atlassian Developer Status - Incident History
URL: https://developer.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Atlassian Partners Status - Incident History
URL: https://partners.status.atlassian.com/history.rssI

Atlassian Support Status - Incident History
URL: https://support.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Atlassian Access Status - Incident History
URL: https://access.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Atlassian Statuspage Status - Incident History

Opsgenie Status - Incident History
URL: https://opsgenie.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Atlassian Bitbucket Status - Incident History
URL: https://bitbucket.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Trello Status - Incident History
URL: https://trello.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Jira Align Status - Incident History
URL: https://jira-align.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Confluence Status - Incident History
URL: https://confluence.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Jira Core Status - Incident History
URL: https://jira-core.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Jira Service Desk Status - Incident History
URL: https://jira-service-desk.status.atlassian.com/history.rss

Title: Jira Software Status - Incident History

Now I am off to investigate why my #atlassian-product-release-rss-feed channel is not working.

Hi Kat,

We've recently released Slack subscriptions as an option for Statuspage , and this is enabled on all the Atlassian pages. A Slack workspace admin can install the integration from whichever page they're in directly:

The resulting message in Slack is significantly cleaner than an RSS feed subscription:

You'll also see in this message that individual components are listed. If the page owner has enabled component-level subscriptions, you can also select which components to subscribe to with the Slack integration (not possible with the RSS feeds).

@Kat - Good reminder Kat!

After Google shuttered Google Reader, I paid less attention to consuming RSS feeds (in all senses of consuming). I guess it's time to dust off my old RSS lists - I wonder what would be useful to feed into various Slack channels? 💭
