Auto transition issue if the Due date date is past current date in JIRA Data center

There is a post function from Scriptrunner that allows you to fast track transition an issue based on a condition.  This will provide you with the solution you are looking for.

I'm heading to the office now.
In the editor for your workflow, find the transition you wish to transition.
Click on the Post Function Tab
Scroll down the list and locate the Fast Track Transition option, select that hit next fill out the details... it's not difficult trust in yourself.  I'll check back in here later to see if you've managed, let me know.

I was able to find the post function but it gives a strange error- 

My intention is to compare due date with Current date and transition the issue automatically if due date> Current date

you need to move the step down in the workflow post functions list, in the post functions on the transition you can move things down in order of operations just use the down arrow.  this post function needs to go last in the list.  Also make sure you are calling the right transition
