Pin a page or blogpost on News Board

By default News Board displays the newest pages and blogposts on the News page first (based on publishing date). But if you have ever wanted to keep a particular page or blogpost pinned to the top of the page, that feature is now available.

Once pinned, the page or blogpost is flagged on the News page with a yellow indicator in the top-left corner of the tile:

At the same time, you can use the same control to 'unfeature' content or change the feature category directly from the News page. To manage featured content you need to be a News Page editor or admin - look for the three vertical dots on the content tile:

Notes:

  • This has also required a change in the app permissions from read to write, to support the ability to manage featured content from the News page. However, News Board isn't writing anything to Confluence, except to record meta-data as a content property against the page or blogpost.
  • News Board respects access permissions, even when content is pinned. Hidden pinned content can be unpinned using the 'Configure' menu on the News page.
