Object schema sharing in Insight

Hello,

Initially, we created one schema in Insight for IT infrastructure (services, application, servers, etc). Later, guys realized that there is a need to have a second schema for specific business needs (client personal & profile data, used services, etc).
Some data in both schemas is the same, so for the purpose of data integrity we would like to share a "common part" of the first schema for the second one.
We did not found any schemas sharing feature. How could we share common data ?

Any suggestions are welcome

Hi Salvijus,

It's not possible as of Insight 5.0.4 to share data between different schemas, or link to an object from one schema to another. All data needed for an schema, needs to be in it.

if you have data in one schema, that is needed in the other, what could be done is to export that data and import it in the other schema using our import engine. But that seems not to be the case for you, as you already have the data in both schemas.

Best Regards
Alexander

Hi Alexander,

Have you any plans to implement such feature for future Insight versions?

Regards

Salvijus

Hi!

There is no plan as of today, but that might change in the future.

Best Regards
Alexander

I believe this feature would be very useful.

The same way as an object attribute can link to confluence or Jira project, there should be the possibility to link to any other Object Scheme.
